Happy hump day my Super Sexy Modern Latinas! Today's blog is entitled "Sin Verguenza," which in Spanish loosely translates into "no shame/embarrassment." Today I thought we might share what some of our most embarrassing moments are. My "Sin Verguenza," moment happened to me about 5 months ago. And was a result of me not knowing how to properly wash , or dry my bra. As some of you may or may not know, my bras are each called by name. Usually they are named after characters I have portrayed in musical theater. Anyhow nena, "Black Lavender," (which is not named after a musical theater character, by the way) had just been washed. I needed to wear her the next morning, but I washed her kind of late in the midnight hour. Tu sabes. I was afraid I would not get her dry enough for the next morning. So to speed the drying process, I think to myself, well, why not use the blow dryer? Seems harmless, right? Wrong! nena! It would have been okay, if "Black Lavender," was not 85% polyester on the outside. So....I am drying her with the blow dryer on low heat of course, but then I get impatient, nena. So I kick it up a notch and put that thing on high heat full blast, right against the booby cup. All of a sudden I start smelling something burn. So I was like, pues que esta pasando aqui? And then my Jessica Simpson moment hit me! The intensity of the heat, was way too much for "Black Lavender's," sensitive little polyester garment to take. Aye yae yae, nena! My beautiful, expensive little push up bra from Victoria's secret, "Black Lavender," wounded in battle! A burnt whole, the size of a quarter, right in the middle of the chee chee mi'ja! And I was the culprit!! Embarrassing? Yes! Did I throw my black lavender away? Heck no nena! That is some expensive shizz! okay!? I mean, whose going to see it right? Is this ghetto? Yes. Is it Super Sexy? Probably not. But nonetheless, "Black Lavender," had served me well and she deserved more than just being dumped out with my household garbage. So today, she is worn mainly around the house.
So in honor of "Black Lavender," here is how you should properly wash and dry your bra.
Most bras say to hand wash, which is probably the best way to wash so that they don't lose their shape. But, if you are super busy like I am, you can also try putting your girls in a laundry bag or tied pillow case in the washer, on the gentle cycle. Set the washer to cold. Before your throw your girls in the laundry bag, make sure the clasps are together so that they don't snag your other bras. After they come out of the wash, put them on a white towel to dry flat. Allow yourself plenty of drying time, so that you don't make the same mistake I did, nena. Usually they will dry within 6 to 8 hours.
And there you have it nena. So anyone want to share any of their "Sin Verguenza," stories? Feel free!
Besitos!!! ;)
