Good morning my Super Sexy Modern Latinas!!!!
Today's blog is entitled, "Cooking with Corazon," (Cooking with heart). I've been thinking about my Grandma lately and all the wonderful foods she would cook. My Grandma's comidas were so delicious, because I believe she cooked with her heart. She didn't complain about having 7 kids to cook for. No, she did it because she loved them. I have memories of my Grandma making homemade tortillas, and giving my primos and I a warm hot tortilla with butter, after a long hard day of playing Kids Incorporated. (Yes nena, I would dream that I was Martika, the Latin kids incorporated girl, singing on stage to Madonna's "Dress You up in my love." Black lace gloves! The jean jacket! The bangles! The make up! The hair! Oh nena, I thought I was her! Okay? That's another thing mi'ja, if you don't already know, your nena is a Madonna freak!! Mostly 80's Madonna. I am convinced that she has a little bit of Latina in her, tu sabes, with that whole "Isla Bonita," song. I mean how could she not have a little Latina in her? Right?? ) Oh! But back to our blog nena. Sorry. Okay, okay. So, since I've been thinking about my Grandma lately, I've decided to cook my way through some of the recipes I remember her cooking for us. Your nena is not an expert in these recipes, so bear with me. After all, I did char a tortilla to ash last week, and killed my arroz with wayyyyy to much salt. But I love cooking nena. So! I am going to try and recreate my Grandma's recipes to the best of my memory. And if the hubby promises to take your nena to see the "Sex and the City 2," pelicula that everybody in the whole wide world has seen, except for your nena, then maybe, if they are still showing it, just maybe....(with hand over your nena's mouth, so these next few words are mumbled) I will make him some home made tortillas. Ok! There! I said it!!! Y'jole! That was hard for your nena to say. Home made tortillas are not easy! Okay??? Whoo! Got your nena's chonies all twisted in a bunch. Anyways!!!! Stay tuned as I blog about my experiences "Cooking with heart."
Besitos! ;)
